AG #4 Seeks Individual Artists & Creatives!

Art Gumbo is now accepting applications from individual artists for the summer funding cycle. Applications for Art Gumbo mini grants for the summer funding cycle are available now through Tuesday, June 23.

New submission guidelines include the separation of individual artists and organizations or groups during funding cycles. Arts organizations and groups are not eligible to apply during the summer funding cycle. The first 8 eligible applications received by 11:59 p.m. on June 23 will qualify for funding.

According to the new guidelines individual artists (or creatives) will be eligible to apply during summer and winter cycles, and arts organizations (or groups) will be eligible during fall and spring cycles.

The next Art Gumbo Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, June 30, 6-8 p.m. at Riverfront Pavilion @ Eagle Point Park. Turkey Brats by Cremer's Grocery & Fresh Summer Salads by AG volunteers. Beer Tasting by Dubuque Society of Brewers. $10 funds the winner's project.

ELIGIBILTY: Individual artists or creatives whose project will impact the Dubuque community.
HOW IT WORKS: Artists & Creatives submit a brief proposal of their project. Submitted projects will be combined into a packet. The public attends the Art Gumbo Soup Dinner, they pay $10 to get in, and this money goes into the Art Gumbo Fund for the night. The attendees enjoy the soup, review the packet of proposals, and vote for their favorite. The proposal with the most votes will be awarded the Art Gumbo Fund proceeds for that night.
FINAL REPORT: The winning artist/creative will be invited to the next Art Gumbo Soup Dinner to present a progress (or final) report. Volunteer support is expected by the winner at the subsequent event.
HOW TO APPLY: Those who wish to submit their project for funding consideration can apply via email by completing the application questions below. All submissions should be attached as word documents or documents compatible with Microsoft word.  Limit your application narrative to 1000 words (approximately 2 pages).
