AG #10 Recap: Boots & Brew!

Boots-N-Brews reigned supreme at AG #10. We tallied 77 patron votes & raised $855 at the Dec 27 soup dinner. Another great night for creativity in Dubuque!
A full house for AG #10 at  St. Mark Community Center!
1st Place ($593) went to custom foot wear artist Paul Opperman for his Footwear Art Exhibit. Opperman plans to curate and host an exhibit featuring handmade shoes and boots.

"The show will consist of an opening night boot display and slide show of the shoemakers constructing the boots in the show," says Opperman. "The following afternoon will be a short talk on the process of making handmade boots with time for questions and answers with the artists." The exhibit will open in Dubuque in 2013, location TBA with the potential of a traveling exhibit as well.
Paul Opperman & his sweet, sweet boots!
2nd Place ($262) went to Jay Jubeck for the purchase of a brew kettle for his upcoming launch of a community supported brewery (CSB). Check out Jubeck New World Brewing Co. for all the details. Craft Brew is ART!
“One of the most exciting aspects of the CSB concept is creating a community through establishing a brewery. For us, beer is more than just a product to be consumed. It’s a catalyst for deeper connections between members of our community,” says Jubeck.
